The Magician — Nothing is missing

The Magician — Nothing is missing

Nothing is missing.

One of the greatest paradoxes of our time is that we have access to more knowledge than any generation before us, and yet we trust ourselves less.

Never have we had so many experts telling us how to lead, how to communicate, how to raise children, how to build relationships, how to sleep, how to eat or even how to think.

Knowledge is a privilege. But it also has a hidden side effect: little by little, it teaches us to outsource our confidence.

We begin to believe that someone else knows better, has the missing piece, and will eventually tell us when we are finally ready.

I don't believe the greatest problem of our time is a lack of information: I believe it is the gradual loss of trust in our own capacity to perceive, to adapt and to create.

This is where The Magician enters the story.

Not as a Tarot card, but as a human function.

Look at the table in front of him.

• A wand for action and fire
• A cup for emotion and water
• A sword for thought and air
• A pentacle for matter and earth

Nothing extraordinary. Just the four dimensions every human being already carries within.

The Magician is not powerful because he possesses something others don't: he is powerful because he recognizes what is already available and knows how to bring it into relationship.

Ideas without action remain fantasies. Action without thought becomes impulse. Emotion without grounding overwhelms us. Matter without meaning becomes empty.

Magic is not about possessing more. It is about connecting what already exists.

Perhaps this is why I find this archetype so relevant today.

Our culture constantly encourages us to accumulate knowledge, methods, certifications and tools before we dare to act.

The Magician quietly proposes a different possibility: what if the next step does not require becoming someone else? What if you just needed to reconnect with capacities you have gradually stopped trusting?

Maybe this is the real purpose of symbolic work: to reactivate perceptive capacities we have gradually stopped using.

So here is today's mirror.

Where have you started believing that someone else knows you better than you know yourself?

And which part of your own intelligence have you gradually stopped trusting?

The cards are simply the excuse.
The real subject has always been us.

See you in the next mirror.
